Matthew Leverone: Leverone Design Group

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Some designers have the natural ability to design not just a cooridinated room, but design a room you want to spend time in.  I recently saw the work of Matthew Leverone at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase (he did the family room and breakfast room) - I believe he is one of these designers.  Above, a previous project he did, as seen on his Decorati profile.  I like his mix of patterns and stripes, lights and darks… I can imagine sipping a coffee in this off-kitchen den.

Private Preview Gala – Wed Night at San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Monday, April 27th, 2009

I had the pleasure of attending the Preview Gala, opening night of the San Francisco Decorator Showcase.  For those of you who have never been, you should know the SF showhouse is one of the best in the country.  I am not just saying this because I am a showcase alumna (’04) but because I looked into showhouses for a book idea some years back, and determined San Francisco is equally on par with other well-known showhouses, such as Kips Bay and The Hamptons.  This year’s showcase was no different.  Above: Orlando Diaz-Azcuy with Diane Dorrans Saeks, in the exquisite dining room Diaz-Azcuy designed.

San Francisco Decorators Showcase – shhh day before opening with Jennifer Weiss

Monday, April 27th, 2009

I had the opportunity to drop by the Showcase the day before the big opening.  Designer Jennifer Weiss was relaxing triumphantly with her laptop while workers made a few final touches around her.  Here she is giving us a “Ta Da!”  The kitchen, the heart of the home for many of us, often sets the tone for the house and the same is true for Showcase.  You must check out Jennifer’s beautiful kitchen  – and don’t miss the organic, unexpected light by Aqua Creations.

Catching up with Dakota Jackson at the PDC

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

While in LA I had the chance to catch up with Dakota Jackson in his showroom.  Chic, clean, and white, the perfect backdrop for seeing the unusual lines of the pieces and similar to the one in New York at the D&D Building, the Dakota Jackson showroom makes a strong brand statement.  I look forward to seeing the interpretation of the brand in San Francisco at the De Sousa Hughes showroom, coming soon.
